Job Description:

Architectural Job Captain / Justice Architect Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in Architecture or equivalent work experience.

- Minimum of 5+ years of architectural industry work experience

- Past architectural project experience pertaining to Justice or Correctional facilities such as courthouses, jails, prisons, etc. are a preferred. But we will also consider candidates with an interest in Justice or Correctional facility projects.

- Registered Architect License is preferred but not required

- NCARB registration and LEED certification are a plus

- Strong knowledge of architectural design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness.

- Advanced knowledge of architectural building systems.

- Thorough understanding of project work plans, schedules, staffing, and budgets.

- Thorough knowledge of buildingSMART, Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Integrated Project Delivery (IDP).

- Knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines.

- Possess strong hand and advanced CAD drafting skills.

- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop preferred.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

- Proficiency in 3D Modeling software such as 3D Studio Max and Viz 2006 preferred.

- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, and InDesign graphic software preferred.

- Proficiency in Revit required.

- Proficiency in Deltek Vision preferred.

- Proficiency in NewForma preferred.

- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

- Ability to work in team environment.

- Ability to effectively meet deadlines.

Architectural Job Captain / Justice Architect Responsibilities:

The ideal and successful Architectural Job Captain / Justice Architect will orchestrate and coordinate the work of a multi-disciplined team throughout the design development and contract document phases of justice/ corrections projects, attend client and internal meetings, and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance. Will assist the Architectural Project Manager in managing the project team, clients, and subconsultants. Architectural Job Captain / Justice Architect will complete documents on schedule and within the client's and company's budgets. Assignments will include performing Revit modeling and detailing, producing architectural contract documents, reviewing architectural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines, writing/editing architectural specifications, coordinating and assisting affected disciplines with addendum, RFIs, and change orders, and incorporating agreed upon changes into the project documents. Will participate in Construction Administration by reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to RFIs, and solving construction issues.
