Pro/E Design Engineer
This is a job summary which includes essential job duties of the position. More specific information regarding duties may be provided upon request for particular locations and facilities. This position will drive the design efforts of product development projects for both new and existing product lines while working with cross-functional teams and providing excellent customer service. The Design Engineer will lead the design efforts for technically challenging new product initiatives and existing product improvements while working closely within a team framework to ensure new products meet expectations for schedule, performance, and cost. Additionally, the Design Engineer will communicate with customers and suppliers, both internal and external, and assist with the transfer of products from design into production. In addition, the Design Engineer will provide strong engineering leadership to various organizational projects including, but not limited to, E&O reduction, SKU reduction, or productivity projects. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field 3-5 years of Product Development experience Experience working in Pro Engineer software for 3D modeling solids and surfaces is required. Experience designing products in the hardware/tool industry is a plus Must be able to demonstrate ability to design components manufactured using die casting, plastic injection molding and standard high volume machining processes. Understanding of how to design components for high-volume assembly Strong understanding of Manufacturing and Supply Chain functions Exceptional critical thinking and problem solving skills Excels in and promotes a team environment Proven extensive record of developing and successfully launching new and existing product modifications Total Quality Culture Oriented Outstanding leadership and communication skills Business Acumen Conflict Management/Composure Planning & Organizing; Strong Process Orientation Initiative & Follow-up Judgment/Problem Solving Negotiating Skills Organizational agility/getting things done through others; Strategic agility Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously Preferred Qualifications: Consumer Products Industry Experience Newell Rubbermaid and its Business Units are Equal Opportunity Employers and comply with applicable employment laws.
