Civil/Structural Drafter III

Zachry Engineering Corporation is seeking resumes for a Civil/Structural Drafter for the Minneapolis, MN office. The Civil/Structural Drafter will apply manual and computerized drafting methods with a working knowledge of the terms and procedures of the occupation to obtain the desired product. Assignments will be completed utilizing information provided by project managers, project engineers or technical services staff.

Responsibilities:

•Prepare civil/structural plans, elevations, and sections to represent the civil/structural design construction layout. Must be able to utilize various drafting and CADD techniques with proficiency to produce drawings in a 2-D and 3-D environment for project requirements.
•Prepare plant layout drawings; details, and sections as required. Must be able to accurately draw civil/structural drawings from sketches or specifications using appropriate symbology, terms, procedures and drafting standards.
•Prepare bills of material, schedules and assist engineering personnel with formal drawing transmittals and construction issues.
•Assist project personnel to revise drawings to reflect as-built conditions.
•Must have a working knowledge of the Windows operating system including email, word processing, spreadsheet, database and computer-aided drafting applications.

Requirements:

•Associate degree in drafting/design or equivalent job related experience. (2 years job related experience equivalent to 1 year college).
•Three-ten (3-10) years’ of Civil Land Use / Geopak, structural steel experience required in addition to Associate’s degree.
•Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Microstation is essential.
•May require travel to plant/job sites. May require overtime hours. May be required to work in an industrial plant environment.
